Russia's New Jet Drone Shahed-238 Outperforms its Predecessor Threefold
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has had a profound effect on the relationship between Russia and Iran. While the war hasn't drastically changed their bond, it has sparked an unprecedented level of cooperation between the two nations. Iran has been providing Russia with advanced loitering munitions, including the Shahed-136 drone, also known as Geran-2 in Russia, for deployment in the conflict.
As part of this collaboration, a Russian Major General, Vladimir Popov recently disclosed in an interview that Russia is planning to introduce an enhanced version of the Geran-2 kamikaze drone. This upgraded iteration will boast a jet engine, elevating its flight performance, as well as an improved guidance system and a larger warhead.
